One last smile for the F-train
Last Thursday, on my way home from work, the F-train didnt want to fucking move. It was just stuck on the 71st Street/Continental station for over 12 minutes. Every 45 seconds the train's conductor would announce that there was a sick passenger on the train and that the paramedics were on their way.Waiting for this train to move was pisssing me off--plus I had to piss as well. I decided to entertain myself and walk towards the part of the train that had all the action. I couln't see anything for a few minutes, then the firemen and the lard-ass paramedics on the scene decided to take the sick person up the stairs to the ambulance. Strapped onto a gurney was this attractive dark skinned lady with braided hair who was dressed in white medical garb. Her eyes were closed and she had a smile in her face. Someone next to me said: She was sitting accross from me and just dropped dead". I told him that she couldn't be dead because she was smiling and he said: "Trust me, she's dead".

The teachings of Christ of compassion, brotherly love, and nonviolence are pushed aside in their blind Christian/patriotic frenzy.

"There are too many people too angry at a world that is not the least bit angry at them" so um... be happy. yeah...i guess thats the moral of this post :)

I'm a big fat ass too. That's what makes me the sickest of all. I'm a fat ass. I can sit and talk about wanting to be a thin girl, but what will change if I never do something about it. What right do I have to complain if I never change my habits. When will I start? Is there even a hope in changing my habits now? Can I stop checking 12 emails? Can I stop spending hours on forum, talking to people I don't really know? Can I NOT make a website in turn of having a life? At the moment, NO is the answer to all of those questions.

...Aimed at those out there, in any industry, with sucky packaging. Doesn't matter if it's food, cleaning products...or socks...if your packaging sucks, you may see it listed here for all to see. It’s not a fact-finding mission to make the world a better place. It’s not about the solution. It’s about the problem. (And poking it with a stick to see if it squirms.)

I measured my bsl tonight for the first time in ages. 12.1. Not good, but I have had a couple of glasses of wine plus pie. Bad me, but I was at friend's place for dinner and that makes it hard.

Monday
Today's cold, dark (yep, when no sun, it looks dark outside) and so you don't really wanna go out, at least I don't.Still I went to the Jobcenter with my sister, then to the post office wishing I could withdraw money - I couldn't- and back home where I have been reading almost all day. I'm still reading Pride And Prejudice and it is very good :)Oh yeah, I forgot about it. I've got good news : I slept sound last night ! Ok, you don't care but I do. So I'm happy :D

but what interests me most is the concept of the virtual ambient co-presence, or tele-cocooning. My current research (a master's thesis project) is focused on analyzing the implicit structural and semiotic cues that people give off when they publish images in a virtual co-presence environment. My goal is to show how these cues can be used to inform the analysis of a community social network

face-to-face? how creepyI have always thought that there is a weird preoccupation that some CMC/CSCW researchers have with face-to-face communication. So I found it very refreshing to read one of Mimi Ito's papers and see the term "side-by-side" in print. It seems like a much more realistic metaphor for communication. People simply do not communicate face-to-face in most situations. Face-to-face is appropriate for a broadcast/lecture delivery format and for cocktail parties. It's also a source of social anxiety--there's an entire episode of Seinfeld about 'close talkers.' Face to face is sometimes just too... creepy.

So the second semester of school is here, seems to have come sooner than expected! But it will be another busy semester of classes, here's the rundown:Basic Physics - The professor seems like the nerd in high school that nobody liked because he was too smart for his own good, but i'm looking forward to physics because i've never had it before.Fundamental movement through dance - yes, i'm taking a dance class...in one class we did some dance stretches and it felt really good!Dance Appreciation - yes, another dance class, this one focuses more on the history of dance, rather boreing!National, State, & Local Government - This class focuses on the government and how it works and operates...exciting...Persuasive Reading & Writing - English class...yuck, the professor is an older lady who likes to talk, a lot!!Fundaments of Oral Communication - Seems like a pretty cool class, the professor is really cool and i look forward to making some fun and creative speeches! So that's the class outlook for the second semester. It looks like it's going to be pretty busy, but i'm looking forward to learning a lot and also having a lot of fun hanging out with the buddies in the dorm and playing some broomball!!!

My head feels like it's going to explode. It's three in the morning, and I haven't been able to sleep a wink. Barry is out lieka light on the couch, but I can't handle it. The footsteps started at about four o'clock this afternoon. It's like a group of people are marching around my apartment. When Barry got back from work he could hear it to. Then the door to the bathroom and my bedroom started opening and closing occassionally, like whatever it is was walking around from room to room. At first it was scary, Barry and I were both freaked out, but now, it's driving me up the wall. it makes my head hurt, and I feel liek I haven't slept in months. It's one of those piercing headaches, the kinds that seem to come from the center of your brain, rather than your sinuses or ears, like something is buried in the middle of your head, and is trying to scratch its way out.

OH! Can you believe it? I typed balls!! I think I've sufficiently ignored that little voice in my head that keeps me out of trouble...

To me, gray areas only exist out of ignorance. Eventually, I will have an answer and an opinion for everything, and most of it will probably end up here.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Diet Coke in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "Woo-frickin'-hoo!! What a ride!"
